Great story! It sounds like the boots were definately causing the unwanted chills and noises. I have heard of one instance where that happened to someone I knew before. So Im going to say you did the right thing by giving the boots to the other girl. Who knows if the visits would have ever stopped had you threw the boots in the trashcan or something.

Many years ago, in the 70's, a woman was living with her sister and her sister's husband in a small cottage behind our house (about 1/2 a mile or so away). The lady died one night and I was very disturbed that the family didn't ask me for help because I knew first aid and cpr. The sister gave me a pair of western boots and I mentioned that I thought a teenage girl who had riden at their barn should have them, because I had a feeling that Loretta would have liked that. For several nights after receiving the boots I noticed strange noises in the bedroom my husband and I slept in, and often a cold feeling on my back which was to the bedroom door. This made me think that something was not right. I finally gave the boots to the young girl who really did appreciate them and never had the feelings again, but I do feel that the feeling I had that the boots should go to Connie and the fact that all the night time disturbances stopped once she got them indicated that I had made Loretta happy. Incidentally, I used to tell my husband how tired I was after Loretta "visited" during the night and he actually put the boots on the basement steps to stop the visits, although it didn't help.

My Father was my first Ghost

My father died on Thanksgiving day when I was in the second grade. I always hated that holiday because I felt I had nothing to be thankful for and just had an empty feeling of great loss. Usually there was an assignment to write a "What Thanksgiving Means to Me" and I imagine mine was unusually depressing, if not hateful.

A few years after my father died I had a 'dream' where he was sitting in my room on my bed with me and talking about "love, remarriage, and divorce" and I kept asking "Daddy w… Continue
